Just a few more miles to the east, over the rim of the Green Mt. Range, the waters again flow south into the Connecticut River. Lake George waters are clear and deep, dotted with islands and lined by forested mountains that cascade steeply to its shores. All of this and more make up the mystique of Lake George.
